De-stressing

So, I have been dealing with too much stress lately.

Parker's school situation, my niece and recently the lies and betrayal of someone I considered a good friend...

I am not certain that this stress hasn't triggered the health challenges that I am experiencing right now...it all seems to have popped up too close together.

I have regular chiropractic care and recently massage, but my question is this: How do you deal with stress? What do you do, for better or for worse that helps you reduce the stress in your life?

I drink slurpees. A lot.

So sorry you are having so much stress Lisa.

When I am stressed I try my best to remove myself from whatever I think is stressing me. I know sometimes doing that is hard, if not impossible though. I find talking to good friends or my mom helps as well. And quiet time... to sort things out in your mind and rejuvenate your spirit from within. A good prayer helps. And Amber's idea of slurpees sounds like a good one. :)

Hope things get less stressful for you. xx

Ummm... food?? LOL I tend to eat a bit more when really stressed, some times better than others. When it becomes a bit too much for me, I try to remember why I am doing this all, why I put up with it so to speak.

I have cut two people out of my life recently, because they brought more stress to my life. Things have been so much better for me since then.

My big things are finding time for myself each day, even if it is after the kidlets are in bed. I can watch a good show, read a good book, while enjoying a nice glass of wine.

I hope things settle down for you soon.

I'm so sorry to hear things have been so rough for you recently.
My day job is in Behavioral Health (psychiatry) and work a lot with people on stress management. That said, my husband laughs hysterically when he thinks of me helping others with their stress. He thinks it's a case of "the blind leading the blind".
But seriously- I have friends I vent to- either online or in person. I also love working in my garden or doing something physical to de-stress. One of my closest friends got me a garden plaque last year that reads "Gardening- cheaper than a shrink". Too true!
And then... there's always chocolate....
I hope things look up for you soon.
