“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people

won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give

other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,

our presence automatically liberates others.”

I love Marianne Williamson. Have you read her book The Age of Miracles?

My favourite lines in this quote are "Your playing small does not serve the world"... and "We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us". I believe this wholeheartedly.

I wrote a post not long ago about fearing what I am capable of. Imagine what we could all do if we just lived to our full potential without fear. It is certainly something that all people struggle with.

Thanks for this today.

My favourite line is: "We are all meant to shine, as children do.".

I try to be as fearless as the boys... pretending that I'd never learned to be afraid of trying something and just irrationally believeing that I could do it...

They inspire me to take chances and have faith and that is a wonderful thing in a world that tries to make us feel hopeless and complacent.

Beautiful and thought provoking Lisa. I too love the same quote.

Thank you for sharing.
